About Pumulani Toll Plaza

Bakwena Platinum Corridor Concessionaire entered a 30-year Build-Operate-Transfer concession with SANRAL, commencing 28 August 2001. The concession covers a 95 km section of the N1 between Pretoria and Bela-Bela, as well as the N4 west of Pretoria to the Botswana border. Pumulani Plaza sits at the beginning of the Bakwena-managed section and serves as the entry toll for northbound N1 traffic leaving the greater Pretoria area. The plaza name derives from a Setswana/Sepedi word meaning "rest".
