About Capricorn Toll Plaza

The Capricorn Plaza serves the section of the Great North Road between Polokwane and Louis Trichardt — a route historically used by transport operators, miners, and travellers heading to Zimbabwe. The Tropic of Capricorn crosses South Africa in this region, giving the district (and this plaza) its name. The N1 through Limpopo is managed by SANRAL and forms part of the Trans-African Highway network linking South Africa to East Africa. North of this plaza, traffic climbs through the Soutpansberg mountains before descending to the hot lowveld and Beit Bridge border post with Zimbabwe.
